The trial of former head of Helsinki police drug unit, Jari Aarnio, was temporarily interrupted on Friday after a fire alarm went off.

The smoke came from the court house cafeteria but there was no flame.

Before the interruption, the court was holding a hearing on text message exchange between so called “Malmi woman” and the police who was interrogating her.

Just before the fire alarm went off, the court heard of the text message written by the officer to the woman in English which read “I miss you too and I see fire”.

Even the presiding judge inscribed the temporal link between message referring to “I see fire” and the fire alarm.

The court session resumed around 20 minutes later after the interruption.
