The Supreme Administrative Court has ruled that the Sami Parliament Executive Board’s decision to hold new elections is unlawful.
According to the court, the board does not have the jurisdiction to decide matters and legal issues which already have finally and definitely resolved by the Supreme Administrative Court.
The court received 27 complaints on the Sami Parliament Executive Board’s decision to hold elections and for not accepting the Supreme Administrative Court’s endorsement of the Sami elections.
The decision by the board to hold new elections has been termed unlawful and the court has annulled it.
The court also dismissed an application to disband the Sami Parliament’s electoral commission.
