According to the agency, hacked Finnish email accounts were used to distribute malware-laden messages.
According to reports by the FICORA, National Cyber Security Centre Finland (NCSC-FI) and the NBI, the Jsocket RAT malware has been sent to more than 15,000 Finnish emails accounts in an attempt to steal information.
The most common antivirus software did not detect the malware either. The mal-ware can also prevent antivirus software from functioning normally.
The messages containing malicious software sent through the hacked accounts are known to the authorities.
The NCSC-FI told reporters on Monday that they had sent instructions to hacked email addresses on how to proceed.
