A conscript of Kainuu Brigade was slightly injured when a training grenade detonator exploded in the midst of a handling exercise on Monday.
According to the Army, the accident occurred at noon at the Kassunkuru training area. A conscript dropped the grenade detonator and it exploded.
The conscript received minor injuries to his face and hand. He was transported to the garrison health center for treatment and returned to service the same day.
The Army says that the training hand grenade detonator has approximately one gram of explosive.
