A teacher has been charged with sexual abuse, revealed a district prosecutor on Wednesday.
According to the police, the case involves a male teacher and a female student who had been dating near Turku.
The police earlier told the news agency STT that the student is 17 years old.
The suspicions arose due to the findings of another teacher. A notification of the matter was sent to the school’s principal.
The age limit for sexual offences protection is usually 16. However, the age of consent is 18 when, for example, the relationship involves a trusted party such as a teacher.
The proceeding will held in the district court on May 25.
