President Sauli Niinistö on Thursday made telephone call to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and German Chancellor Angela Merkel and discussed the possible consequences of the British referendum for the European Union.
Niinistö called Juncker in the morning and Merkel in the afternoon, according to an official press release.
The topics of the discussion with Juncker included consequences of the British referendum, implementation of the Minsk peace agreement, and Russia.
The discussion between Niinistö and Merkel also focused on consequences of the British referendum, implementation of the Minsk peace agreement, the forthcoming NATO Summit, and Russia, the press release added.
