Tue, 02 Aug, 2016 12:10:40 AM FTimes – STT Report, Aug 2 ![]() File Photo – Lehtikuva. Women, children and families are reported to have left Finland for areas under the control of the extremist organisation Isis, said Security Police (Supo) Superintendent Tuomas Portaankorva.
The Dabiq magazine, which is one of the Isis propaganda channels, published an article in which an alleged Finnish narrator described her radicalisation and moving to Isis controlled area.
According to Portaankorva, Supo has long been aware that women have left Finland to join Isis ranks.
“This is an issue which we have been aware of since the beginning, and this article will not change the perception,” Portaankorva said.
Portaankorva said the Dabiq is a magazine whose objective is to spread propaganda and increase Isis support and members.
Supo did not comment on the content of the story: whether the person was really a Finn or the identity of the woman.
