More than half of Finns do not want Finland to join in with a third aid package for Greece, according to a survey conducted by Western Media.

Of the respondents, 57 per cent were of the opinion that Finland should not finance the new aid package. Those in favour of an aid package, was about a quarter, or 26 per cent of the respondents.

Almost one-fifth of the respondents were unable or unwilling to confirm their position on the matter.

Almost half of the respondents said that they would lose faith on the government, if Finland participates in the new Greek bailout package.

Roughly the same amount of respondents, however, felt that their confidence on the  government would remain unchanged even after any additional aid to Greece.

Nearly one tenth of the respondents did not tell of their position. Western Media's Economic Research conducted the survey on Tuesday and Wednesday, questioning a total of 1001 people.

Gallup's telephone and web panel estimated margin error of the polls would be 2.5 per cent.
