Ville Niinistö, the chair of the opposition Vihreäliitto (Green League) referred to the Fennovoima nuclear power plant project as a complete farce.

Niinistö commented on the subject on Thursday in his address to the SuomiAreena gathering,

According to Niinistö,the government has to resolve the matter immediately,since the Ministry of Employment and the Economy has published its report.

“The government has only one final decision: the Fennovoima application should be rejected at once and the capital be directed to renewable forms of energy,”Niinistö said.

Niinistö regards Voimaosakeyhtiö SF’s new shareholder as a Croatian shell company whose ownership is linked to Russian real estate business.

The Green Party boss also criticised the government cuts in education and for the disadvantaged.
