Producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 4.2 per cent from March 2015 to March 2016, according to Statistics Finland.
The producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market went down by 3.9 per cent, while the producer prices of export products fell by 4.6 per cent.
The fall in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by reductions in the prices of oil products, manufacturing of basic metals and chemicals and chemical products from March 2015.
The fall in the producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products and manufacturing of machinery and equipment.
The export price index fell by 4.7 per cent and the import price index by 7.5 per cent in the year, the data show.
The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 3.8 per cent while the index including taxes fell by 3.3 per cent.
Export prices were in particular depressed by the falling prices of oil products and manufacturing of basic metals from March 2015.
The fall in prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products.
From February to March, producer prices for manufactured products, however, rose by 0.5 per cent due to increased prices of oil products from the previous month.
