The trial of Andy Hall, a researcher of the Finnish NGO Finnwatch, will start on September 2 in Thailand.

The researcher contributed to a report by Finnwatch which shed light on working conditions of workers at the Natural Fruit company.

The company produced pineapple concentrate for Finnish supermarkets’ private-label products.

The company filed four charges against Hall which include defamation and charges related to computer crimes.

According to Finnwatch, Natural Fruit supplied juice concentrate for Finnish retailers SOK, Kesko and Tuko Logistics private-label juices produced by Finnish VIP-Juicemaker Oy.

Among the clients of Tuko Logistics are Suomen Lähikauppa and Stockmann.
