The Finnish Association of Fire-fighters wants to get rid of unnecessary bureaucracy in their work, revealed a resolution published on Wednesday.

The regional differences in rescue department’s resources are considerable at the moment, observed the association, adding that it supports reducing the number of regional rescues departments to five.

In its resolution, the association said creating wider administrative entities would ensure adequate resources for core tasks and rescue operations.

In addition, the association said it is in favour of formation of five regional training and command centres in a way so that each will have its own school and training area.
