The North Savonia District Court in a closed hearing on Tuesday ruled to keep the woman behind the bars.
Lead investigator in the case, Mikko Miettinen, said the woman was scheduled for interrogation on Tuesday evening. Father of the murdered children is set to be interrogated on Wednesday.
According to Miettinen, the suspect is cooperating well.
Other people to be interrogated will be established as the interrogation progresses.
The police confirmed that there were no outside eyewitnesses.
The prosecution pointed out on Monday that the case will be investigated as two murders.
The Office of the Prosecutor General has outlined that the prosecutor at this stage of pre-trial investigation will not be named.
The children – one aged two and a half years and the other six weeks – were killed in Kuopio on Saturday.
The children’s mother notified the emergency response centre. The father was not present at the suspected time of the killings.
