An upper comprehensive school girl on Monday was crashed under the wheels of a concrete garbage truck at Muhos in North Ostrobothnia.
The girl had just alighted from the bus and immediately rushed from the bus stop to cross the road.
While crossing the road, the girl was run over by the truck which was coming from the direction of Oulu.
According to the chief rescue officer, the parked bus probably prevented the girl from seeing the incoming truck.
The driver of the truck tried to dodge the running girl and, as a result, the truck crashed sideways into a ditch.
Some of the truck’s cargo was dispersed along the road.
The police are investigating the incident as endangering traffic safety and as manslaughter.
