More voters of foreign background than ever before will be eligible for the forthcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for April, reported the Finnish language daily Keskisuomalainen.
According to the report, the number of voters of foreign background has increased by more than 50 per cent over last four years.
The current figure of eligible voters of foreign background is 75,000, while the figure during the previous elections was 49,000.

Nearly one-third of the eligible voters of foreign background speak Russian as their native language. The second largest group speak Arabic and the third largest speak Somali.

In particular, the gap is manifested in the middle aged voters.
