President Sauli Niinistö and first lady Jenni Haukio is scheduled to make an official visit to Japan from March 7 to March 11, according to a press release of the President Office.
 
The President will hold official talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo. The programme will also include other meetings with Japanese political leaders and representatives of business life, and a visit to Kyoto.
 
Niinistö will be accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and the Environment, Kimmo Tiilikainen, and a delegation of business leaders, including representatives of the forest industry, energy, ICT, infrastructure and Arctic expertise sectors during the visit to the Asian country.
 
A seminar will be arranged on economic relations between Finland and Japan and the countries' strategic partnership.
