The Economic Affairs Minister Olli Rehn believes that Russia is also disappointed with Britain's decision to exit the European Union.

Rehn took part in the Kultaranta discussion following the visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin on Friday.

“My understanding that there was no rejoice there (among Russians). EU is, however, the only modern partner for Russia when times get better,” Rehn said.

Speaking in Kultaranta, Rehn said Brexit also interferes Russia's economic outlook due to uncer-tainty.

Putin was vexed by EU sanctions since it hampers trade between Finland and Russia, and urged Finnish companies to invest in production inside Russia.

“Because Finland is a law-abiding EU member, the changes (in trade relation) may wait until our relationship with the European Union changes,” said Putin while also hinting on Brexit.

“There are other solutions, you can even ask London,” said the Russian President.

President Sauli Niinistö in his response, however, pointed that Finland was also involved in those decision on imposition of sanctions on Russia.
