The value of export last year was EUR 1.98 million, which was EUR 1.26 million in the year 2011, said the report.
The export figure of the book sales was collected from domestic publishers and anonymous agents.
The figures, however, did not include sales from foreign based agents and revenues from sales abroad.
About a half of earnings came from the sales of fiction writings, one-third from pictorial children books and one-tenth from non-fiction books.
Research house Media Cleve conducted the study jointly ordered by the Finnish Book Publishers’ Association and FILI, an export organisation which supports the translation, printing and publication of literature and promotes the awareness of Finnish literature abroad.
