A large part of the reduction will be achieved through natural attrition, retirement and through other means of support measures.
The bank will also initiate the so-called personal co-determination negotiations with 112 employees aimed at finding other positions inside the bank for them.
Many Nordea branches were closed on Friday after workers protested the bank’s plan to reduce more staff than originally envisaged.
The initial reduction need was estimated by the bank at 250 to 300 workers.
According to Nordea, there is a possibility that around 300 employees will go into retirement this year. In addition, the bank plans to set up a new call centre in the country that will create 60 new jobs.
