The opening hours for shops and salons are to be freed, as the government moves to amend the legislation on shops’ working hours.
The government has prepared a draft, which proposes to repeal the law on the opening hours of shops, salons and barber shops.
In practice, the change means that stores could remain open as they see fit. Small-scale entrepreneurs in shopping centres could in the future have the right for a one day off in a week.
The basis of the proposal is a government programme which states that as part of deregulation of the shops, the working hours should be freed.
The goal of the reform is aimed at improving the competitive position of shops against online stores.
The draft which has been sent for consultation is expected to improve the employment situation.
