FTimes-STT Report, Mar 29

The police on Saturday arrested a man after he had reportedly robbed a store in Huittinen area of Satakunta.

The man wielding a gas gun snatched a car as he made his escape after the robbery, the police said.

The alleged robber entered the downtown store at about 8:00 a.m. He threatened the staff with a gas gun and sprayed a customer in the store. The victim, however, did not receive any serious injuries, said the police.

The mugger then took a small amount of money from the store.

According to the police, after the robbery, he threatened a customer refuelling his car outside the store with the gun and fled in that car.

The police later spotted the suspect in Harjavalta on the highway to Kokemäki. Soon after, the car turned onto a forest road and got stuck. The suspect fled on foot, but the police caught up with him.

The police said during the chase, among other things, he was passing cars recklessly and drove in the oncoming lane.

The suspect was being sought to carry out a prison sentence.
