Chairman of Perussuomalaiset (True Finns) Timo Soini on his blog called the three-party government coalition “perussinimulta” or “basic blue soil”.
According to Soini, it’s a beautiful lyrical expression that isn’t prejudiced against anyone. He said the “basic” refers to Perussuomalaiset, “blue” to Kokoomus (Conservative) and “soil” to Keskusta (Centre).
On Thursday, the parties left out of the coalition named the new government “basic bourgeois”.
Among the ranks of Keskusta, they are avoiding the term “bourgeois” and prefer centre-right government.
Soini marvelled at how Perussuomalaiset is again on everyone’s lips, and read all of the charges laid against them.
“Yes, we are all doomed, when the sauna is not a sin, when formula and horse races can be held without permission, when eating meat is not prohibited, and schools do not have mandatory vegetarian days,” Soini wrote in the essay.
