A Finnish national died in a hotel sauna fire in Berlin, reported German newspaper the Berliner Morgenpost. The fire occurred in the Excelsior hotel in the Charlottenburg district.
The Foreign Ministry confirmed the 37-year-old man's death, as first reported in Finland by Finnish language tabloid Ilta-Sanomat.
According to the newspaper, the authorities have also received a message regarding the man's death.
The German newspaper report said a hotel employee noticed smoke coming from the sauna at 21:25 local time and alerted the fire brigade.
Firefighters found the Finnish man dead in the sauna's dressing room. The sauna was completely destroyed.
German authorities are investigating the cause of the fire as well as the man's death.
