Both supporters and opponents of NATO have decreased since last year, according to a new public opinion survey conducted by national broadcaster YLE.
The percentage of uncertain respondents, on the other hand, has risen from 16 to 23.
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation membership is now supported by 22 percent of respondents, while a year ago the support was at 26 percent. The number of opponents has fallen from 58 to 55.
The survey also examined the impact of possible Swedish membership in NATO. If Sweden decides to apply for membership in the military alliance, NATO support would rise to 35 percent.
The percentage of opposition would fall to 47 percent.
Almost two out of three respondents still wish for a referendum on NATO membership.
A thousand people responded to the survey last week.
