The next time the city government will deal with the issue on February 29, the city's head of communications said.
In the mayoral model, the city council would choose a mayor and deputy mayors during every election. The elected mayor would work as the chairman of the city government, deputy
mayors as a member of the city government and as chairmen of industry boards.
In the proposed model, Helsinki's more than 30 agencies and institutions would band together with a central administration, technical competence, social welfare and health authorities, education and early childhood education implementation as well as action on cultural, leisure and fitness.
