Police inspector Harri Saaristola who submitted the application for the closure of the publication distributing network to the court said that it has not yet decided whether the police will appeal to the higher court against the district court´s verdict.
NPNetworking which had leased server space to MV-lehti and Uber Uutiset terminated its con-tract with MV-lehti at the end of July forcing the MV-lehti to find another site to host its publication.
MV-lehti was forced to close for a few hours on July 29 but resumed on the same day.
Before the closure, the Helsinki Police Department had filed to the district court of Helsinki to stop OVH Hosting, Net9 and NPNetworking to relay information from certain ip-addresses which publish MV-lehti publication and Uber Uuutiset.
“Because the district court decision was such, at this stage it is needless to make a new applica-tion (for the suspension of the online distribution),” Saaristola said.
