The sales of retail trade have decreased by 1.3 per cent in June compared to the corresponding month of the last year, according to the retail trade flash estimate of Statistics Finland.  
 
Over the same time period, the volume of sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went down by 2.6 per cent.
 
In daily consumer goods trade, sales grew by 0.3 per cent in June but the volume of sales decreased by 3.3 per cent from the respective period of the year before. According to the Business
 
Register, the share of daily consumer goods of turnover in retail trade was 47 per cent in 2011. There were 24 trading days in June 2013, which is one day less than in June 2012.
 
The retail trade flash estimate is based on a sample covering, on the average, 50 per cent of retail trade turnover. Data on trade sales by industry will next be released on 13 August 2013.
