The airlines authority on Tuesday reported €24m pre-tax profits during the last quarter of 2013, a sharp decline compared to the previous year.
Total net profit before tax in 2013 stood at €10m which in the previous year was €15m.
Net turnover fell by 2% to €2.4bn, although the number of passengers rose by nearly 6% to 9.3 million.
Vauramo pointed out that the demand for air travel in Europe had increased in 2013 despite the fact that many European countries were still in recession.
The slide has been attributed to the weakening of Japanese Yen, low number of passengers during the holiday season and workers’ threat to go on strike.
