Postal and logistic service provider Itella announced on Friday that it had completed statutory negotiation with its employees.

The corporation confirmed that the initial reduction need of 319 had now been set at 239 employees.

The need of reductions does not concern employees at the Posti service points or production duties such as postal workers employed in mail or delivery duties, said Itella.

"We are very pleased to achieve the targets with less redundancies than expected. During the negotiations, the number of redundancies was reduced through voluntary arrangements and retirements." said Jaana Jokinen,Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Itella in the release.

Itella said location-specific figures concerning the reductions will be announced after discussions with personnel have been completed, which is expected to be by the end of October.
