The sum of wages and salaries in the entire economy was 1.1 per cent greater in the July to September quarter than in the corresponding period 12 months earlier.
 
In September alone, the wage and salaries’ total amount in the whole economy grew by 1.6 per cent year-on-year, according to the Statistics Finland’s data.
 
In the July to September period one year ago, the wages and salaries sum grew by 1.4 per cent.

The wages and salaries grew in the July to September period in all main industries with the exception of education services provided by the private sector (-0.1%), financial intermediation (-0.2%) and manufacturing (-0.3%), according to the statistics.
 
The growth in the wages and salaries sum was fastest in the private health and social work (4.7%), construction (1.9%) and other services (1.9%).
 
The wages and salaries sum grew by one per cent in the private sector.
 
One year ago, the wages and salaries sum grew by 2.0 per cent in the public sector and 1.2 per cent in the private sector, the data show.
