The bankruptcy estate overseeing management of Talvivaara Sotkamo subsidiary confirmed that the mine would go back into operation on Thursday, said the Kainuu Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre).
Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd was placed under receivership in the last weekend.
During the stoppage, the mine was supplied with chemical stocks used for metal recovery process. In addition, some piping installations were also made in the area.
ELY Centre had earlier called on the bankruptcy estate to continue with the operation of the Sotkamo mine as soon as possible.
ELY Centre said it would ensure that the bankruptcy estate had initiated re-treatment of waste water.
According to ELY Centre, the treated waste water from the mine is not to be drained to the natural environment, but should be stored according to the authorisation.
