The popularity of Vihreä liitto (Green League) has risen to a new record high, found a survey commissioned by the Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat.

According to the survey, 13.6 per cent of Finns would vote for the Greens.

The party is the fourth most popular party in the country, after the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party), the Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland), and the Kansanllinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party).

The popularity of the Kokoomus and the Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) on the other hand has dropped.

The Keskusta is the top on the popularity list with the support of 20.9 per cent respondents, followed by the SDP with 20.6 per cent, and the Kokoomus with 17 per cent support.

The popularity of the Greens has been at around 10-11 per cent after the 2015 spring parliamentary elections.

The survey conducted by TNS Gallup interviewed 2,500 persons between May 16 and June 16.
