Three people drowned in different parts of the country on Friday.
 
Body of a 75-year-old local resident was recovered at Outukumpu in North Karelia.
 
An empty boat was found drifting nearby, said the Eastern Finland police.
 
The police investigating the reason behind the incident said the man had gone fishing on Thurs-day evening.
 
The rescue department was informed of the incident at 9:00 am.
 
Another man who went for a swimming trip drowned at Hollola in Päijät-Häme.
 
According to the rescue department, the man went for a swimming trip alone and was seen drowning by other people who alerted the emergency centre.
 
A diver from the rescue department found the man immediately but he was already dead.
 
In another incident, a middle-aged man who was out with two children drowned when their boat capsized. The children survived swimming to the shore.
 
The rescue department found the man after search for several minutes, but nothing could be done to save him. The children were taken to a health centre for check-up.
