A 70-year-old woman was injured critically when an elderly man fired gunshots at her at Mukkula in Lahti late Sunday night, the police said.
The police said the incident took place at about 9.00pm, when the man came to a yard where some residents of the building were congregated.
He first pointed the gun to others in the yard and then shot the woman in the head.
The police arrested the 75-year-old man from the spot on charge of attempted manslaughter.
The motive of the incident is still unclear and investigation was going on in this regard on Monday, the police said.
