The Supreme Court issued the ruling while dealing with a dispute between the mobile phone operator Elisa and the ombudsman regarding billing EUR 1.90 for a paper bill.
According to the court the fee for a paper bill is not unreasonable.
In addition, there are other free-of-charge forms of billing available for the consumers.
The consumer chooses their form of billing when making a connection contract with Elisa.
The customers with no access to internet may receive their billing information as a text message.
The reasons for free electric billing including environmental protection and minimising of costs were approved by the court.
