A conscript was injured during an exercise at the armoured brigade's shooting range of Hätilä in Hämeenlinna on Thursday, sources at the Finnish Defence Forces said.
The accident happened during a hand grenade throwing exercise, in which the training grenade made of plaster exploded in the conscript's hand.
According to the Defence Forces the accident was caused by mishandling of the grenade.
The injured conscript received immediate first aid at the scene later he was transferred to hospi-tal.
Other conscripts and staff present during the incident were not injured.
The injured conscript will resume service later, informed the Defence Forces.
