The Helsinki District Court on Monday sentenced a former employee of Finn Church Aid to conditional imprisonment for aggravated fraud.

The temporary project manager was sentenced to a year and three months of conditional impris-onment for writing unjustified invoices.

The court also ordered him to pay back 75000 euros to the Finn Church Aid.

The project chief had commissioned additional works and charged invoices for himself, even though he did not have the right to do so.

The man charged over 96000 euros, of which the charity organisation managed to pay him and related parties and companies a total over 75000 euros.

About 20000 euros remained unpaid when the organisation was able to cease payment.

The crime took place during Christmas of 2013 and March of 2014.
