A cyclist was killed when a truck knocked him down at Tapparakatu and Keijutie intersection in Lahti on Tuesday morning. 
 
Police said that the victim was a middle aged man.
 
The cyclist was driving along the cycling path and the truck had taken a right turn from Keijutie to Tapparakatu. 
 
According to the police the truck was supposed to yield the way for the cyclist.
 
The designated speed limit at the place is 50 kilometres per hour. 
 
The crossing has bushes and a maple that decrease visibility, said the police.
 
The accident is being investigated as endangering traffic safety and manslaughter.
