The number of deportations for committing crimes has risen slightly in the first eight months of this year.
The Finnish Immigration Service deported a total of 231 people till the end of August, Immigration Service sources said.
Among them, 103 or two-fifth were deported based on crimes.
In recent years, about one-third of all deportation decisions have resulted from crimes.
By the end of the year, the total number of deportations based on crimes should reach the same ratio as last year’s, pointed out Finnish Immigration Service Head of Section for Europe Immigration Unit Olli Koskipirtti.
