The venture will employ 60 people in the initial stage.
The recruitment and training will begin in autumn this year and the telephone service unit is expected to start operations next winter.
The company’s decision to set up the telephone service unit in Salo is based on its assessment of Salo’s skilled labour and suitability of Nokia’s former factory premises.
“Salo has undergone structural changes for almost five years, so Nordea’s decision is also important for us sentimentally,” said Antti Rantakokko, the mayor of Salo.
According to Nordea, customer advisory services over telephone are increasing.
Nordea customer service is contacted over two million times a year.
