Hypermarket Prisma has surpassed Lidl in the food price competition, according a price comparison by the Consumer Association.
Last year, only one Prisma store came ahead in the comparison, but this year, all Prisma stores ranked among the top three. Lidl was ranked second after Prisma.
A total of 17 stores were included in the comparison. The stores are located in Helsinki, Jyväskylä, and Kuopio.
The most expensive stores were Valintatalo, while food prices in Citymarket stores varied from city to city.
The comparison was carried out by purchasing a nine-item staple diet, including banana and milk.
