Mon, 15 Aug, 2016 12:04:35 AM FTimes Report, Aug 15 ![]() FTimes Photo. Rovaniemi will host the annual meeting of the European Network on Regional Labour Market Monitoring (EN RLMM) on 18-19 August at the University of Lapland.
The meeting will focus on the changes being taken place in different trades as a result of digitalisation, while deliberating on how best to incorporate better insights into regional and local labour market monitoring.
According to EN RLMM, the conference will explore how the traditional labour market forecasting models can keep a better watch on the effects of digitalisation on the labour market as well as explore increased use of the foresight methods.
Representatives from 19 countries, including a few from countries outside of Europe, will converge in Rovaniemi for the conference.
Institutes, organisations and companies of 26 countries across the Europe are active members of the EN RLMM.
On the first day, the conference will deliberate on the expectations and challenges imposed by digitalisation on the labour market, with the day’s key speaker being Pavel Trantina of the European Economic and Social Committee.
The second day of the meeting will focus on the role of technology in forecasting and foresight. Key speakers on the day will be Ummuhan Bardak of the European Training Foundation and Stelina Chatzichristou of Cedefop.
On the sideline of the formal programme, the representatives will visit exhibitions at the Korundi House, Alvar Aalto’s architectures and the Santa Claus Village.
The main dinner will be catered by the Oppipoika restaurant.
