Danske Bank’s mobile phone transaction system MobilePay has begun cooperation with VeriFone payment terminals.
Soon, MobilePay users will be able to pay for their purchases using VeriFone payment terminals in Finland, Denmark and Norway.
The transaction will either accrue a small additional monthly charge or be included in the merchant and VeriFone service agreement.
The payment app is used by 370,000 Finns, said Danske Bank.
VeriFone payment terminals will handle MobilePay payments using a VeriFone bluetooth chip. There are about 400,000 VeriFone terminals in the Nordic countries, with about 120,000 in Finland alone.
