The Prime Minister, Jyrki Katainen on Thursday said in Brussels that the minister for International Development, Heidi Hautala would continue as a minister despite the allegations raised against her.
The allegation came to the public following a news report published by a Finnish language tabloid, Iltalehti, which unearthed alleged irregularities against the minister regarding unattended pension and home renovation works bills in late 2009.

The prime minister, however, said that an employer should be obliged to render his or her liability in accordance with the law.
But Katainen said that the criticism from the media would not affect the ministerial work of the minister.
The minister for International development, Heidi Hautala, however, expressed her regret responding to the allegation report of the news media.
According to the report, Hautala had paid the bill of renovation in hand and had left unpaid pension contribution.
There was a widespread criticism that Hautala is a member of underground economy in normative work against the ministerial working group.
