An elderly woman was burnt alive in a fire broke out at a residential house at Sarvinkin area in Joensuu on Thursday.
Police said that the body of the woman aged about 73 years was totally burnt in the fire took place at a hundred years old house at the area.
The fire fighters responding to the alarm rushed to the remote area of Sarvinkin but found that the woman born in 1940 already burnt to death in the fire.
The 69 years old male partner of the dead, however, managed to escape the accident from the next door and made the call to the fire brigade rescue team.
Primary investigation revealed that the fire was originated from the kitchen.
