The government survived a vote of confidence by a narrow margin of 97-94, Finnish national broadcaster YLE reported on Friday.
The vote was brought forward by the two major opposition parties of Finland, the Finns Party and Center Party, alleging Prime Minister Alexander Stubb's cabinet failed to boost the nation's economic growth and employment.
A total of 191 lawmakers participated in the vote with eight MPs absent.

The vote was nerve-wracking for Stubb's cabinet, which has been in office for only four months.
In addition, the government had only 101 MPs in the 200-seat parliament after the Left Alliance and the Green League withdrew from the six-party coalition earlier this year.
YLE reported this was the sixth confidence vote faced by the government since the 2011 election.
