The government website was restored after going down on Sunday.
Markku Mantila, Director of Government communications said the cause of the problem was still being probed.
Mantila was waiting for further briefing regarding the situation.
According to Mantila, there is no indication that it was a case of a denial-of-service attack.
The website was down from morning until early evening hours.
The government recently introduced a revamped website.
