President Sauli Niinistö on Saturday expressed the hope that the US and Russian operations in Syria and Iraq against the ISIS terrorist group would be cooperative.
The president made the remarks after a meeting with government and other officials following the attacks in Paris.
He said the idea of struggle against the common enemy of terrorism should emerge in the world politics.
According to Niinistö, the Paris attacks have opened his eyes and the attacks serve as a warning signal to the Finnish.
News agency Xinhua adds: President Sauli Niinistö on Saturday condemned the terror attacks in Paris, terming them “a crime against everyone.”
He said Finland would give all possible backing to France in the fight against terrorism.
In a written statement, Niinistö presented his deepest condolences to French President Francois Hollande and the French nation.
