FTimes-STT Report, Nov 15

An exceptional criminal case for Finland was in court in the Seinäjoki district court on Wednesday and Thursday.

The prosecutor demanded a murder charge for the 15-year-old girl accused of killing her classmate.

MTV previously reported that the pre-trial homicide investigation should have revealed the girl's infatuation with the victim.

Prosecutor Kimmo Lampinen has not yet publicly stated the motive for the crime, but has justified the murder charge by saying that there was clear evidence of foul play, and that the method used was raw and brutal.

The prosecutor will release details in the public proceedings.

“I will not go into detail at this time,” Lampinen said of the prosecutor's decision.

The killing took place in April, and the murder instrument was a sharp weapon.

The eighth grade girl had gone by scooter to the house where the homicide occurred.

According to prosecutor Lampinen, the suspects have acknowledged in the pre-trial investigation the events in the house.

The case will be tried in the South-Pohjanmaa district court. It is not yet clear whether secrecy might be imposed on parts of the trial.
