Thu, 19 Nov, 2015 12:01:28 AM FTimes – STT Report, Nov 19 ![]() File Photo – Lehtikuva. The Helsinki police on Wednesday said that they have uncovered a drug importing and proxy or-ganisation intending to sell amphetamine on the streets throughout South-Finland as well as Kotka and Koivula.
During the preliminary investigation, the police seized a total of 28 kilograms of amphetamines. A 49-year-old Estonian man and four Finnish men aged between 33 and 49 years are currently in cus-tody.
The Estonian man was caught in early 2015 in a delivery vehicle in Eastern-Uusimaa.
The police found 18 kg of amphetamines concealed in the vehicle. The drugs were discovered dur-ing a customs inspection.
In late summer 2015, the Helsinki police arrested a Finnish man from Western-Uusimaa and seized 10 kg of drugs.
The police have arrested one Finn living in Estonia as well as three living in Southeast-Finland.
The street value of the seized amphetamines is more than 500,000 euros.
